Broadband is fundamentally about huge performance increases over existing modem and ISDN based services. Figures are often quoted of 15 times or 30 times faster, what does this really mean. Firstly here is a comparison of speeds.
The quoted 30 times figure uses the 2048 receiving speed compared with the 64 of one ISDN channel, of course if comparison is with ISDN both channels then performance is only 15 times better.

Broadband technology removes the need for continual reconnection to the Internet. Your company is always connected sending and receiving information 24 hours a day. You don't have to remember to connect and with the increased speeds those emails with large attachments arrive and depart with exceptional speed.
Of course being permanently connected also means any resources you want to grant access to for remote users are available when they need them. Even if you just want to send an email from the office but you are at home logging onto the company network is suddenly possible, subject of course to taking sensible security precautions.

How does it work ?
Your satellite broadband installation will use a satellite to securely beam your data from your PC or network to a fast internet connection point on the ground. This enables you to be connected to the heart of the internet, wherever you are.
We will install and configure 3 components at your site:-
- A satellite dish (typically 75cm located on the southern aspect of your building
- A satellite modem located up to 30m from the dish
- The modem is connected to your PC or network using a standard RJ 45 connection
